This is a superb opportunity for an experienced Account Executive to join one of the biggest names in the insurance industry and inherit a substantial portfolio of corporate business.

The Maidstone branch of this global broker has just enjoyed its most successful year ever; in terms of renewal income, new business acquisition and cross-sales. Picking up some of the most coveted corporate accounts across a range of fascinating industry sectors (Manufacturing, Life Science, Food & Beverage, Retail, Manufacturing and Tech etc), there are few brokers in the business that boast such an enviable client list.

On our briefing call with the hiring manager, they were adamant that, “there is simply no better place to have an insurance career than this business.” They went on to tell us that this role gives people exposure to risks that they simply won’t find in other companies, and that it involves very interesting work encompassing a true Risk Advisory approach and Crisis Management projects with high profile clients.

Upon joining, you will inherit a portfolio that can be tweaked to suit your skills, experience and ambition, comprising circa 12 clients with average individual fee incomes of circa £50K+.

The focus on this role is very much on the management of an existing portfolio of clients rather than business development, and rather than actively pursuing new business, it is hoped you would try to capitalise on opportunities as and when they present themselves, or grow the account through cross-selling ancillary services.

Working in a team of experienced Account Executives, you will provide a high-level service to your portfolio. You will benefit from the assistance of a team of Corporate Account Handlers, Brokers and Claims Executives, who will allow you to focus on the more challenging aspects of controlling the portfolio, such as overseeing renewals and managing C-Suite relationships.

It is essential that you have experience of working as an Account Executive. Whilst this need not extend to previously managing clients generating £50K+ fees, it is essential that you have dealt with some larger commercial risks and that you can demonstrate the enthusiasm and ability to deal with more complex, major corporate risks. You must be a polished communicator who is able to secure ‘buy in’ from corporate clients from a variety of industry sectors.

Our client offers a very flexible-working arrangement. Whilst you will be welcome in the office as much as you like, you’ll only need to be there circa once or twice a week. As such, this role will suit candidates from across London and the South East.
