Job Description

We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Class 2 drivers to join our successful team at a well-known Distribution Centre based out of Hemel Hempstead. These roles will appeal to individuals who love working in a team to deliver exceptional service.

£43,030 per annum, Monday – Friday, 50 hours per week.

Hourly rate - £16.55 per hour

No bank holiday working required.

Start times between 05:00 - 06:00; flexibility is required.

Due to the nature of the work, heavy lifting is required. It is essential that the successful applicant is capable of carrying out this type of work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive company vehicles and operate company equipment safely and properly, in accordance with company policies, procedures, and legislation.
• Assist in loading operations and movement of vehicles onto bays.
• Provide excellent customer service at all times and take ownership of customer issues on delivery.
• Responsible for the accurate, timely movement and delivery of customers’ products.
• Carry out 5 – 20 drops per day.
• Deliver demountable boxes and paperwork to out-bases for day deliveries.
• Perform vehicle and auxiliary equipment checks prior to operation; report defects immediately.
• Report to the traffic office for debrief upon return to base and report any exceptions promptly.
• Self-manage and use initiative to solve problems.
• Adhere to safe working practices to ensure safety of yourself and others at all times.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Full Category 2 Driving Licence; Class 1 is an advantage.
• DCPC Qualification card and proof of current training hours.
• Experience driving commercial vehicles.
• Knowledge of driving legislation.
• Enthusiasm and reliability.
