Job summary

Blockchain is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join our Core team to scale a distributed financial platform that touches millions of people daily. You will help develop tooling and educate developer teams to deliver new features securely and at scale.

The role emphasizes reliability, security, and observability, with an in-office London presence four days a week and a Work-from-Anywhere policy allowing up to 20 remote days per year.

Qualifications

• Experience with containerization and service orchestration, including best practices and security.
• Strong knowledge of at least one programming language. Go, Python, and Bash are a plus.
• Linux fundamentals including resource allocation, networking, and internals.
• Experience with cloud solutions (GCP or AWS).
• Deep understanding of modern monitoring tools (Prometheus, Datadog, Grafana, Telegraf).
• Experience with infrastructure as code, Terraform deployments.
• Saltstack experience is a plus.
• GitOps and CI to make changes (Github Actions preferred).
• Experience with messaging systems (Kafka).
• Experience with database management.

Responsibilities

• Evolve infrastructure to address reliability, latency, bandwidth, and security challenges.
• Enhance observability, monitoring, and alerting across the platform.
• Coordinate work across teams to optimize execution paths.
• Centralize duplicated streams of work for developers where possible.
• Develop tooling to remove manual, repetitive tasks at scale.
• Operate in a fast-paced, high-caliber team environment.
