A prominent healthcare organization in Frimley is seeking a Core Clinical Fellow in General Surgery. The ideal candidate should have completed a foundation training program and possess GMC registration. This role offers substantial training opportunities, the chance to participate in research, and exposure to a variety of surgical specialties under expert supervision.
Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest acute Trusts in the South East of England, comprising of Frimley Park, Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitals.
At Frimley Park Hospital, our team of 15 junior doctors at FY2 & CT1/2 level (SHO) work in a variety of specialties including colorectal, upper GI, vascular, urology and breast surgery; supported by 12 FY1 doctors, 10 Registrars and 4 fellows in General Surgery and separate Urology and Vascular teams' registrars/fellows.
We are looking for suitable candidates to join the SHO team. We provide high quality training, and you will be supported in special interest training where possible. There will be opportunities for minor and intermediate supervised operating and to get involved in research/audit projects with a view to publication.
These are ideal posts for: preparation for Core Training, supporting international medical graduates, building a comprehensive portfolio or those aspiring to ST3 entry. The department boasts successful entries to all the national selection programmes.
Whilst this post will not be recognised for training, there is a strong educational component with dedicated training in clinical, professional and personal skills. All junior doctors are treated equally, with access to Educational / Clinical supervision and a local training programme.
Provide care of acute patients under the guidance of the senior staff and will include assisting the consultants at outpatient clinics and theatre sessions, and operating under supervision.
