Job summary

A leading food manufacturer in Edinburgh is seeking Process Operators for night shifts. The role involves making and baking biscuits, operating machinery, and ensuring product quality. Ideal candidates should have production experience, be numerate and literate, and able to lift up to 15kg. Full training will be provided. Qualifications

  • Production experience in a bakery environment is preferred but not essential (training provided).
  • Numerate and literate in both written and oral communication.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and use own initiative.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15kg.
  • Willingness to work in a food manufacturing setting with hygiene and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Check programme/oven profile and relevant recipe sheets.
  • Ensure relevant recipe is used using the touch screen system/prepping ingredients.
  • Set up and operate the rotary moulder and baking oven, making adjustments as required.
  • Regularly monitor product for any signs of deviation from standards/specification.
  • Keep working area clean and tidy and maintain plant equipment cleanliness.

Working Hours: Nights - Mon‑Fri 10pm‑6am
Payrate: Nights - £15.47 per hour
Contract type: Full time, perm (paid weekly in arrears)

About the role:

This role is responsible for making and baking biscuits. This may involve moulding, baking, chocolate work and marshmallow, toffee and jam depositing.

Key responsibilities:
  • Check programme/oven profile and relevant recipe sheets
  • Ensure relevant recipe is used using the touch screen system/prepping ingredients
  • Set up and operate the rotary moulder and baking oven, make adjustments as required to maintain standards/specifications and report any faults
  • Set up and operate the chocolate enrober and chocolate cooler, make adjustments as required to maintain standards/specifications and report any faults
  • Regularly monitor product for any sign of deviation from standards/specification
  • To ensure colour standards and control sheets are checked/recorded and are correct
  • To keep working area clean and tidy at all times and keep plant equipment clean
Key Ingredients for suitable candidates include:
  • Production experience in a bakery environment is preferred but not essential (training provided)
  • Numerate and literate (both written and oral communication)
  • Ability to work in fast‑paced environment and use own initiative
  • Ability to lift up to 15kg
