About the Role

Bradford Children and Families Trust is looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Social Worker to join their Children in Care Team (Team 6) on a temporary 3-month basis.

You will play a key role in supporting children and young people in care, overseeing care planning, contributing to permanency planning, and ensuring their safety, stability, and wellbeing.

This position is ideal for someone with strong frontline experience who is confident in managing complex cases and supporting junior team members when required.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of looked-after children and young people

Complete statutory visits, reviews, and pathway planning

Work closely with carers, schools, health professionals, and legal services

Contribute to permanency and transition planning

Provide oversight and informal support to less experienced staff

Ensure case recording, assessments, and care plans are compliant and high-quality

Requirements

Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration

Substantial post-qualification experience, ideally at senior or advanced level

Experience in Children in Care / Looked After Children teams

Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, care planning, and safeguarding

Confident in multi-agency working and court processes

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Working Arrangement

This is a hybrid role. While remote working is supported, office presence is required for specific tasks, meetings, and team days, as dictated by service needs.
