I'm currently partnering with a well-established law firm based in Redhill that is actively seeking a Court of Protection Solicitor to join their Private Client team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a solicitor with experience in Court of Protection work to handle a varied caseload, including deputyship applications, welfare decisions, and statutory wills. The firm prides itself on supporting vulnerable clients and providing expert legal advice under the Mental Capacity Act 2005.

Responsibilities
  • Handle a varied Court of Protection caseload, including deputyship applications, welfare decisions, and statutory wills.
  • Provide expert legal advice under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and relevant case law.
  • Work with vulnerable clients and communicate sensitively and clearly.
  • Advise lay deputies and attorneys; experience as a professional deputy is advantageous.
Qualifications
  • Qualified solicitor (ideally 3+ years PQE) with hands-on Court of Protection experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and relevant case law.
  • Excellent client communication skills; ability to work sensitively with vulnerable clients.
  • Experience acting as a professional deputy or advising lay deputies and attorneys is highly advantageous.
  • Ideally some experience with legal aid and welfare matters.
