The Opportunity: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Court of Protection Solicitor with 6-7 years' PQE to join a prestigious law firm based in the heart of Wimbledon, London. This firm is renowned for its expertise in supporting vulnerable clients and delivering high-quality legal advice in sensitive and complex cases. Responsibilities
  • Provide expert legal advice on Deputyship applications, health and welfare decisions, and other Court of Protection matters.
  • Draft detailed legal documents, including court applications, reports, and correspondence.
  • Represent clients in hearings before the Court of Protection.
  • Work collaboratively with medical professionals, local authorities, and family members to ensure the best outcomes for vulnerable clients.
  • Advise clients on Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) and associated matters.
  • Ensure all matters are managed in compliance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and relevant Court of Protection rules.
About You
  • 6-7 years PQE in Court of Protection law, with a proven track record in managing complex and high-value cases.
  • Deep knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the intricacies of Court of Protection proceedings.
  • Strong interpersonal and client care skills, with experience working closely with vulnerable clients and their families.
  • Excellent drafting, communication, and advocacy skills.
  • The ability to manage a demanding caseload and work effectively under pressure.
