The Opportunity: We are currently recruiting for a Court of Protection Paralegal to join a well-established and highly regarded law firm in Wimbledon, London. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a passion for supporting vulnerable clients in a highly rewarding area of law. Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting with Deputyship applications, Court of Protection proceedings, and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs).
  • Drafting legal documents, including court forms, reports, and correspondence.
  • Liaising with clients, medical professionals, and other third parties to gather relevant information and ensure smooth case progression.
  • Attending meetings and hearings to assist senior solicitors and gain practical experience in the Court of Protection.
  • Maintaining case files and ensuring all records are up to date and compliant with relevant legal procedures.
  • Conducting legal research to support case preparation and strategy.
About You
  • To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Previous experience as a paralegal, ideally within the Court of Protection, Private Client, or Elderly Client sectors.
  • A strong understanding of Court of Protection processes, including Deputyship, LPAs, and the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with clients and other professionals.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A compassionate and client-focused approach when dealing with sensitive and vulnerable individuals.
