The Shire of Capel is seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to join us as our Environmental Health Coordinator. Job Description

As the Environmental Health Coordinator, you will lead the Shire’s public health planning, ensuring the community’s health and environmental wellbeing through a proactive and preventative approach.

To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health, or equivalent
  • Eligibility to be an ‘authorised officer’ in WA under the Public Health Act 2016
  • Sound knowledge of Public Health Act 2016 and other relevant legislation.
  • Exposure to multidisciplinary regulatory environments within local government processes
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Demonstrated research and evaluation skills
  • Computer skills in MS Office (Int/Adv in Word & Excel)
  • Current C class driver’s licence

Involvement in the development of a local public health plan and experience in emergency management, response and recovery will be highly regarded.
