Role: Cooplands Lead Electrical Engineer

Hours: Full-Time / Permanent

At Cooplands Bakery, we take great pride in the superior quality of our products and the dedicated efforts of our colleagues across all departments. As Site Lead Engineering, you’ll be responsible for the continuous running of all equipment and machinery onsite. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that Preventative maintenance is undertaken and organise repairs on a daily basis, this is predominantly a hands-on role with an element of management and admin involved to ensure the bakery plant and equipment is working at its optimum efficiency.

What will my role look like?

Your role is vital to the efficiency, development and progress of production. You will lead, coach and develop the maintenance team; allocating responsibility, coordinating business needs/ priorities and ensuring all maintenance is performed to the highest standards. You will be a strategic thinker, identifying the most proactive ways to support the business, whilst reducing costs and enhancing productivity.

Role Duties:

Implement maintenance strategies, procedures and methods.

Carry out routine maintenance work and respond to equipment faults.

Diagnose breakdown problems.

Fit new parts and make sure equipment is working correctly.

Carry out quality inspections on jobs.

Identify training needs to develop the team and enhance skillsets.

Arrange specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components.

Control maintenance tools, stores and equipment.

Monitor maintenance costs.

Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs.

Work collaboratively with the compliance team to improve on-site health & safety.

Ensure there is continuous cover of the machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns.

Key Skills:

Time served Fully qualified electrician/HNC Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.

Previous engineering experience within food production is essential.

Ability to prioritise and organize workload, putting in place robust effective plans.

Ability to set clear priorities and goals and delegate tasks.

Excellent communication skills, with ability to build relationships, share best practice and communicate effectively with colleagues at other sites.

Proactive, innovative and co-operative approach to work.

Flexibility to work out-of-hours to support as required to minimize down time.
