Job description

Cooling System Engineer – Midlands South

Location: Midlands South (Home-Based, UK Travel Required)
Salary: Up to £43K + Overtime Available
Training: Schneider European Factory Training Provided

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Cooling System Engineer to deliver expert installation, maintenance, and repair services across refrigeration and air conditioning systems, particularly within data centre environments.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Install, commission, maintain, and repair chilled water and chiller systems
  2. Diagnose and resolve cooling system faults
  3. Conduct site surveys and client consultations
  4. Coordinate and oversee on-site installations
  5. Provide excellent client service and technical training when required
  6. Work closely with internal teams to ensure service efficiency
  7. Complete reports and ensure proper handling of parts

Requirements

  1. Recognised formal qualification in refrigeration & air conditioning (e.g. City & Guilds)
  2. F-Gas certification preferred
  3. Experience in chilled water refrigeration and chiller systems (not supermarket or office AC)
  4. CSCS card or similar certification
  5. Strong knowledge of HVAC controllers and mechanical/electrical components
  6. Full clean UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively
  7. Must be prepared for an on-call rota
  8. Able to work independently and as part of a team
