Cook Team Leader – Lead a High-Performing Production Team

The Role

As a Cook Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading, managing, and motivating a team in a fast-paced food production environment. Working alongside the Production Manager and an existing Cook Team Lead, you will oversee daily operations, ensuring production targets are met efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with team-leading experience in food production who enjoys working in a structured environment and driving performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the Cook and Prep teams, ensuring smooth workflow.
  • Plan and assign daily tasks, holding team briefings to set expectations.
  • Ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality and efficiency.
  • Monitor and maintain HACCP/SALSA compliance, signing off necessary paperwork.
  • Manage stock levels and support batch production planning.
  • Oversee staff scheduling and contribute to performance management.
  • Use Microsoft Office (especially Excel) for tracking and reporting. (Training can be provided)
  • Act as a problem solver, ensuring any production issues are resolved quickly.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Experience in leading teams in a food production setting.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to oversee workflow.
  • Confidence in using Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • A hands-on, proactive approach to daily operations.

Desirable:

  • Training in Food Hygiene, HACCP, COSHH, or Health & Safety.
  • 3+ years of food manufacturing experience.

Shift Patterns & Work-Life Balance

  • Facility operates 5:30 AM – 11 PM, 7 days a week.
  • Varied shift patterns available to suit work-life balance.
