East Lothian Council is seeking dedicated individuals for part-time catering roles in primary schools. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality catering services during term time. Candidates must have essential food hygiene certifications and relevant experience to maintain safety and health standards.

Salary: £28,322 - £30,257 per year pro rata
Contract Type: Permanent
Position Type: Part Time
Hours: 30 hours per week
The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Part-time hours / sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly.
Hourly rate of pay: £15.52 - £16.58
This is a 38 week sessional post i.e. working hours will be during school term time only.
Post 1 - Blindwells Primary School
Days and Hours of Work:
Monday - Thursday, 07:30-14:30 (30 minute unpaid break).
Friday, 08:00-12:00
Post 2 - Craighall Primary School
Days and Hours of Work:
Monday - Thursday, 07:30-14:30 (30 minute unpaid break).
Friday, 08:00-12:00

It is essential that all applicants hold an Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2). This can be obtained on-line and is available from many on-line training providers.
To organise, administer and directly participate in the provision of a quality catering and function service in accordance with relevant legislative requirements including health and safety, food hygiene, and hazard analysis within the food industry.

Relevant Qualifications
Elementary food hygiene certificate.
City and Guilds 7061/7062 or equivalent and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.
PVG Membership
This post is considered as a Regulated Role with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020.
All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
