Working hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00am to 15:00pm, 38.75 hours per week,

Contract: Full Time - Fixed Term (Until - 31/12/2025)

Salary: £13.80 per hour

Your new role

What you'll do:

  • To carry out routine duties as required in support of RFM catering staff, including preparation of breakfast and lunch menu items, to assist in preparation of hospitality & café food service.
  • To seek best value for money from all suppliers following RFM procurement policies.
  • To work with the Head Chef in the continuous review, amendment, and development of the standard operating procedure manuals in respect of Catering Services.
  • To follow the RFM Food Safety Policy and Food Safety Management System, including monthly kitchen and café audits.
  • To assist in the completion of staff rotas in advance considering holidays and sickness and plan to ensure service delivery remains uninterrupted.
  • To ensure the safe storage & correct usage for all chemicals used by the catering staff.
  • To assist the kitchen team in cleaning the kitchen daily to specific high standards providing the client consistency.
  • To provide 5-star service standards for both canteen, hospitality and café customers.

What you'll need:

  • City & Guilds 706 1 and 2 or equivalent
  • Food Hygiene Experience
  • Level 2 or 3 in Food Safety
  • Experience of fast-moving catering operation
  • Compliance with all HACCP and COSHH procedures.
  • To always operate with safe working practices with due regard to Health and Safety regulations, COSHH, waste disposal, etc in accordance with legislative requirements and policies and procedures of RFM.

The successful candidate will require a DBS Check before starting in the job.

Who we’re looking for:

The post holder will assist the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the catering services operation, assuming responsibility for providing a safe, quality and cost-effective, catering and administrative service. You will advise and instruct catering assistants in their daily duties, ensuring a fair distribution of the workload. This will also include chef duties, till operation, stock control, food safety compliance, allergen awareness, front of house duties and the general running of kitchen services.

The postholder will work and help within a flexible team, providing high quality catering services to staff and visitors within the project facilities.
