You will be required to travel to different services as needed, but will only ever work at one location per shift. As a Relief Cook, you'll play an important role in supporting Abbeyfield Wales services by preparing and serving nutritious, high-quality meals that promote the wellbeing, independence and choice of the people we support. You'll work in a person-centred way, taking account of individual dietary needs, preferences and nutritional requirements while ensuring a welcoming dining experience for residents.
Alongside cooking and meal preparation, you'll help maintain high standards of food hygiene, health and safety, stock management and kitchen cleanliness. You'll be part of a caring, values-led team that is passionate about delivering great food and making a positive difference to the people we support every day.
We're looking for someone who is passionate about providing great food and excellent customer service, with previous experience working as a cook or within a catering environment. You'll be confident preparing nutritious meals, maintaining food stocks, and working to high standards of food hygiene, health and safety.
You’ll bring previous experience working as a Cook, or in a similar catering environment, along with a Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification and/or NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Hospitality and Catering (or equivalent). You'll be confident preparing and serving high-quality meals, maintaining food stocks and kitchen records, and ensuring a clean, safe and hygienic working environment through the effective use of kitchen equipment and tools. Strong organisational skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to delivering an excellent dining experience for residents are essential

The full-time equivalent salary for this role is £29,072 per annum based on 37.5 hours per week. As a Relief Cook, you will be paid for the hours you work.
