Job summary

Prime Life is seeking a cook to work at Little Acres Residential Home in the Nuthall area of Nottingham. Candidates should be patient and respectful of residents with learning disabilities and mental health conditions.

The role offers set shifts across a 7-day week and training support from the Quality Matters team. We provide fully funded DBS, comprehensive holiday pay, and a Refer a Friend scheme up to £250 per successful candidate.

Qualifications

• Genuine caring nature and desire to make a real difference for residents.
• Experienced Cook; Food Hygiene or Catering qualification preferred, though training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals, snacks and beverages to residents' dietary requirements.
• Undertake quality checks on food prepared and stored.
• Plan menus matching residents' preferences and needs.
• Assist with food service to provide dignified dining experiences.
• Maintain stock records per policy and food safety regulations.
• Order stock and maintain accurate records.
• Keep kitchen clean and support with deep cleaning tasks.

This role will be based at Little Acres Residential Home in the Nuthall area of Nottingham. The home has been specially designed to cater to the every need of 17 residents, living with a range of learning disabilities and mental health conditions that require dignified support from our caring team. It is essential that candidates for this role are therefore patient, understanding and respectful of our resident’s individual abilities.

Responsibilities of our Cook include

What we’re looking for in our Cook

To be successful within this role, you will have a genuine caring nature and a desire to make a real difference for our residents. You will be an experienced Cook, ideally holding a Food Hygiene and/or Catering qualification, though this is not essential as Prime Life can support you with the training necessary for this role.
