Job summary

Prime Life is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team at Lowfield House Residential Home in Kirton in Lindsey. You’ll prepare meals and beverages, respect residents’ dietary needs, and help provide a dignified dining experience in a supportive environment.

Typical duties include menu planning, quality checks, stock management and assisting with kitchen hygiene. Training in food hygiene/catering is available if needed, and DBS will be arranged as part of the onboarding process.

Qualifications

• Genuine caring nature and desire to make a real difference for residents.
• Experience in cooking and food service with awareness of residents’ dietary needs.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and handling is beneficial but training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals, snacks and beverages in line with residents’ dietary requirements.
• Undertake quality checks on prepared food and storage to ensure safety and quality.
• Plan menus aligned with residents’ preferences and requirements.
• Assist food service to deliver a dignified dining experience for residents.
• Maintain stock records and ensure compliance with company policy and food safety regulations.
• Order stock and manage records accurately.
• Keep kitchen hygienic and tidy, assist with deep cleaning tasks.

This role will be based at Lowfield House Residential Home, in Kirton in Lindsey. The home has been specially designed to cater to the every need of 21 residents, living with a range of learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health conditions that require dignified support from our caring team. It is essential that candidates for this role are therefore patient, understanding and respectful of our resident’s individual abilities.

Responsibilities of our Cook include:

• Preparing meals, snacks and beverages in line with our residents’ dietary requirements
• Undertaking quality checks on food prepared and food being stored
• Planning menus in line with the preferences and requirements of our residents
• Assisting with food service to allow our residents a dignified dining experience
• Maintaining stock records in line with company policy and food safety regulations
• Ordering stock and maintaining accurate records
• Maintaining a hygienic and tidy kitchen and supporting with deep cleaning tasks

What we’re looking for in our Cook:

To be successful within this role, you will have a genuine caring nature and a desire to make a real difference for our residents. You will be an experienced Cook, ideally holding a Food Hygiene and/or Catering qualification, though this is not essential as Prime Life can support you with the training necessary for this role.
