Job Advert Role Description

The Priory Hospital Market Weighton is a CQC registered independent hospital. Our goal is to provide person centred, recovery focused care and treatment for males who experience mental illness. Situated in the attractive town of Market Weighton the service is ideally located for safe, structured and gradual integration into the local community. The purpose built hospital is an open service with the ability to lock the doors to maintaintain service user safety. It can accommodate up to 13 individuals as they progress from admission to living semi independently in the flat scheme within the hospital and finally to the residential service upon discharge.

Experienced cook preferred, however training can be provided.

Duties include:

  • To plan and cook meals, max 20 at once (lunch and evening meal) using a small commercial kitchen in an independent hospital.
  • Ensure that meals are balanced, healthy and that dietary requirements and allergens are taken into account.
  • Maintain a sanitary kitchen by adhering to Food Safety in Commercial Kitchen policies, storage and refrigeration requirements and cleaning equipment.
  • To be responsible for ordering and receiving deliveries for the kitchen. Including maintaining stock levels and stock rotation.

Shift hours are 9.30-18.00 over a 7 day period. Set days can be accommodated. This can be discussed at interview.
