Job Role: Temporary Cook (24 hours/week) - Maternity Cover

The Belong catering services are a vital part of our villages, and we seek the best Chefs to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat visits. As a Cook, you will collaborate with the catering team to deliver memorable experiences for our customers.

You will be responsible for the smooth daily operation of the kitchen and catering services within the village, ensuring food is delicious, nutritious, attractively presented, and served consistently. We believe good food and hospitality are key to successful events and occasions.

Requirements
  1. Demonstrates qualities aligned with Belong’s vision and values.
  2. Good communication skills for engaging with diverse groups.
  3. Basic numeracy and literacy skills for stock control and procedural adherence.
  4. Ability to prioritize work and meet standards and deadlines.
  5. Maintains composure under pressure and fosters a relaxed kitchen environment.
  6. Excellent customer care skills.
  7. Basic IT skills for order processing.
  8. Ability to handle loads and operate commercial catering equipment.
  9. Experience catering for large groups (50+ people).
  10. Understanding of dietary needs for older adults or individuals with impairments.
  11. Knowledge of H&S Regulations, COSHH, and HACCP.
  12. NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Professional Cooking.
  13. Reliability to fulfill contracted hours, including weekends and days.
  14. Cost of DBS Check covered by the employer.
  15. Participation in a comprehensive 4-day classroom induction and paid shadow shifts.
