Salary: £17,992 per annum
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Cook Manager to join our team at Orchard House High School.
This is a Grade 3, permanent part-time post working 30 hours per week, term time only plus 5 INSET days. The starting salary is £17,992, with a full-time equivalent of £24,404.
We’re looking for:
- A suitably qualified Cook Supervisor, holding or working towards NVQ Level 2 Food Preparation and Cooking or an equivalent qualification, with operational experience in a catering facility where high standards of food quality, service, and attention to detail are essential.
- Adherence to pre-planned menus to ensure compliance with legislative client requirements and customer needs. Support the Catering Manager in managing a team, including human resources responsibilities such as training, attendance management, and payroll.
- Providing courteous, responsive customer service that consistently meets client needs.
Please note our new school site is opening in Miles Platting in October 2025. Prior to this, the team will work across other trust sites for induction and training. Successful applicants will be expected to travel during this period.
Main purpose of the job:
- Reporting to the School Operations Manager and the Head of Catering, working closely with catering team members and lunchtime organisers.
- Responsible for the safe, effective, and efficient operation of all catering services, including team supervision, cash reconciliation, and financial reporting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a quality, cost-effective catering service in line with SLAs and legislative requirements.
- Adhering to pre-planned menus for legislative compliance and customer satisfaction.
- Carrying out financial administration following Prospere Trust regulations.
- Providing a courteous, responsive customer service that meets client needs.
- Supporting the Catering Manager in promoting equal opportunities and delivering accessible, appropriate services for diverse users.
