The Role: Cook - Line Sugar Factory

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Prepares all food items properly in accordance with printed orders and plating instructions, avoiding waste in preparation.
2. Portions and prepares food items such as salads, appetizers, soups, desserts, and deli items following standard recipes. Performs basic prep cooking like baking, frying, sautéing, and steaming. Must be able to broil, roast, and make sauces, marinades, and dressings.
3. Follows set procedures in cooking, maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of equipment and area according to the production checklist, including supplies.
4. Ensures foods are properly stocked.
5. Uses a calibrated thermometer to check food for proper and safe temperatures.
6. Maintains sanitation buckets with proper bleach-to-water ratios.
7. Uses protective gloves when preparing food.
8. Follows supervisor’s instructions.
9. Provides exceptional customer service.
10. Works safely, adhering to all safety rules and regulations.
11. Communicates effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and guests.
12. Follows all relevant policies and procedures.
13. Complies with the company’s recycling standards.
14. Works efficiently, minimizing costs and resources.
15. Keeps workstation clean during service, disinfects and sanitizes surfaces, and understands food temperature danger zones.
16. Checks food product pars, maintains focus on presentation and consistency.
17. Manages multiple tasks and projects effectively.
18. Maintains customer focus.
19. Communicates effectively across all levels.
20. Reports machinery problems and complaints to Chef Manager.
21. Creates and maintains a sense of urgency.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to read and review documents.
• Punctuality and reliability in attendance.
• Availability to work weekends, holidays, and nights.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Professional appearance and appropriate attire.
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
