Job summary

Cheshire College - South & West is seeking a Cook (EL94) to join our Crewe Campus kitchen team. The role is permanent, 30 hours per week, term-time only, with flexibility to work across campuses.

You'll prepare meals for customers, maintain clean equipment, manage online stock orders, and help promote safeguarding. The post requires basic food hygiene, English and maths GCSE, and DBS clearance as part of safeguarding responsibilities.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or equivalent, or willingness to work towards.
• Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject or willingness to achieve.
• Basic Food Hygiene certificate or willingness to complete.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food for sale to customers in a busy campus kitchen.
• Keep kitchen equipment clean and fit for purpose.
• Undertake online stock orders and check deliveries.
• Promote the welfare of children and young people as part of safeguarding.

Salary: £24,784 - £26,592 pro rata per annum
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 30hours per week (Term Time Only)
Location: Crewe Campus

We are seeking a Cook to join our team; the role will predominantly be based at the Crewe Campus with the flexibility of working at our other campuses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of food for sale to customers;
• Ensuring all kitchen equipment is clean and fit for purpose;
• Undertaking online stock orders and checking deliveries; and
• Promote the welfare of children and young people.

Key Person Specification Requirements:

• GCSE Grade C (4/5) in Maths and English or equivalent (or willingness to work towards);
• Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject are (or willingness to work towards);
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to work towards)
• Experience in the Hospitality and Catering sector;
• Experience of cashing up; and
• Enhanced DBS check.
