Job summary

National Trust is seeking a Cook to work in our kitchens, preparing and presenting fresh, seasonal dishes for visitors. You will follow the National Trust Cookbook framework, help with deliveries and maintain kitchen cleanliness to meet health and safety standards.

You will join a renowned hospitality team, receive induction and allergen/food safety training, and may access further professional development when available.

Qualifications

Job description

Hours: This is a zero-hour contract, meaning we can't guarantee a set number of hours each week. While we aim to provide a consistent work pattern, flexibility is needed as schedules may change based on business needs. We'll try to give as much notice as possible. The role includes weekends and Bank Holidays, but does not require evening or split shifts., As a Cook, your focus will be in the kitchen, helping to prepare and present delicious food from scratch using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Your food will be served directly to visitors. Using the framework of our 'National Trust Cookbook', you'll prepare, measure and mix ingredients. You'll help with deliveries and with keeping the kitchen clean, to be compliant with health and safety legislation and to make sure that service runs smoothly. We'll give you an induction that fits the job, and training in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring needed to help you in your role. You can sign up for further professional training and development if you wish.
