Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a motivated Cook/Chef Assistant to join the team at Strathallan School in Forgandenny. This fast-paced catering role delivers high standards of food service and customer care to pupils, staff and visitors.

No prior experience is required as full training is provided; an Enhanced PVG check is required. You will work 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, with shifts starting as early as 6:00am and finishing by 7:30pm, and occasional events.

• Salary: £13.50 per hour
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Working Pattern: 5 days out of 7
• Shift Times: Earliest start 6:00am, latest finish 7:30pm. Occasional hospitality events may require a finish up to 9:00pm.
• Free parking, free meals whilst on shift, time off over Christmas.

No previous experience needed as full training would be given.

Will be required to undergo an Enhanced PVG check.

What you'll do:

• Prepare and present food to the required standards.
• Assist with food preparation and service.

• Maintain clean and tidy work areas throughout the day and at the end of each shift.
• Clear and clean service areas following meal periods.
• Assist with stock control, deliveries, and the safe storage of food, including allergen management and stock rotation.
• Ensure all food safety, health and safety, and company procedures are followed.
• Support hospitality functions and school events, including occasional evening and weekend work.
• Report any incidents, accidents, near misses, food safety concerns, or equipment issues promptly.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a positive and professional working environment.
