Position

Cook/Chef (Band 3) - £26,869 - £28,998 per annum, plus £1,349 Distant Islands Allowance per annum

Part-time: 20 hours per week

Contract: Fixed-term for 4 months

Job Description

Join our team at Uist & Barra Hospital as a Cook/Chef. Responsibilities include producing and serving high-quality meals for patients, staff, and external customers. You will supervise all operational aspects of the kitchen, including deliveries, preparation, storage, washing up, and supervising staff in these areas.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience in a commercial/industrial kitchen or hospitality is advantageous but not necessary.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene regulations and good food preparation and supervisory skills.
  • SVQ/NVQ Level 5 (Hospitality/Professional Cookery) or City & Guilds 706/1, 706/2 (or similar).
  • Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate required; willingness to obtain it while in post will be considered.
Additional Requirements

Positive and flexible attitude, ability to work flexible shifts including weekends.
