Job description

Job Title: Cook

Location: Bangor

We are currently recruiting for a Cook based in Bangor. The successful candidates will be required to start once the vetting paperwork and ANI clearance have been completed.

Rate of Pay: £12.97

Hours of Work: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, on a shift rota, including 2 weekends per month.

Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and serve food and beverages using appropriate methods to meet the requirements for young people in custody and staff providing care.
  2. Handle special dietary needs by following the instructions of the catering manager and liaising with team leaders or medical officers when necessary.
  3. Assist the catering manager with menus to meet the nutritional needs of the young people in care.
  4. Maintain a professional, clean, and hygienic kitchen, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and COSHH.
  5. Perform cleaning duties according to the Safe Food Policy to maintain standards and manage cleaning rotas.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Up-to-date Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations as per environmental guidelines.
  • At least two years of experience in a similar role.
  • NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds 705/706 qualification preferred.
