Description

Status: Non-Exempt / Hourly Reports to: COOK

"This position is considered Seasonal Full-Time, with an approximate start date in April and running through December, including some downtime during the off-peak period."

Essential Duties and Responsibilities(This is not an exhaustive list of all duties/responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned)

  • Assist in preparation and cooking meals in compliance with the 6-week cycle menu and other applicable local, state, and federal standards.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with food preparation and applicable sanitation standards and state regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining all food item receipts, menu production records and meal counts.
  • Knowledge and ability to safely operate kitchen and food preparation equipment and tools.
  • Assist with local food purchases.
  • Assist in maintaining and ensuring adequate inventory of kitchen supplies, food, and equipment.
  • Ability to measure ingredients, follow recipes, and perform basic mathematical functions.
  • Follow dietary guidelines and individualized meal plans.
  • Assist with food delivery to classrooms.
  • Maintain standards of confidentiality of CC Idaho clients and records
  • Perform all work duties and activities in accordance with CC Idaho policies, procedures, and safety practices.
Qualifications/Benefits

Qualifications

Required

  • Must obtain Food Handler’s Card within 30 days of hire
  • Current driver's license and proof of auto insurance
  • Must pass physical examination and background checks, including state day care clearance
  • Must obtain clearance of Tuberculosis
  • Must obtain First Aid and CPR certification

Preferred

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to read, speak, and write in both English/Spanish in a business setting
  • One to three months with related experience or training
  • Basic computer skills

Required Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl; to reach with hands and arms; to climb or balance; and smell
  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Work Environment

Exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical shock, and fumes or airborne particles; exposed to hazards of traffic; the noise level is usually moderate
