Job summary

Bield Housing & Care in Cumnock is seeking a cook to join the Menzies Court team. The role focuses on preparing high quality, freshly cooked meals for tenants and managing dietary requirements within a retirement housing setting.

You'll work 24.5 hours per week with a 1-hour unpaid break, sharing responsibility for budget-friendly meal provision, ordering, storage, and ensuring food hygiene and safety standards are met across the development.

  • Assisting with the ordering, purchasing and storing of food commodities working within the food budget.
  • Ensuring all food hygiene and health and safety standards set by Bield and where appropriate outside regulators are met and actively promote such standards within the development.

Cook Position in Cumnock Hub (Menzies Court) !

Are you looking for a challenging role where you can learn new skills and deliver great food? Are you experienced in catering and managing dietary requirements?

The role of a chef/cook within our Menzies Court development is more than just cooking. You will be working with our team to provide a high quality of life for those that need it.

Hours of employment

24.5 hours a week.

Week 1 - Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday - 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Week 2 - Monday, Thursday and Friday - 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

This includes a 1 hour unpaid break.

You will be -

  • Responsible for the provision of a flexible meals service, offering high quality, freshly prepared meals and value for money to tenants in a retirement housing service.
  • Assistingwith the ordering, purchasing and storing of food commodities working within the food budget.
  • Ensuring all food hygiene and health and safety standards set by Bield and where appropriate outside regulators are met and actively promote such standards within the development.
