Cook 4 (Catering Manager) (15/3001)

Location: St Joseph's College, Dumfries

Salary: £18,788.01 - £19,939.81

Working hours: 30 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:30am - 2:30pm

You will be responsible for managing a large school kitchen, with support and direction from your line manager.

Requirements: Catering Manager or supervisory experience, cooking skills/experience

Key duties include:

  1. Providing Early Years and School Meals to children and young people
  2. Managing the kitchen budget
  3. Ensuring compliance with H.A.S.A.W. and CookSafe standards
  4. Allergen awareness and management
  5. Organising daily kitchen operations
  6. Working under pressure and meeting deadlines
  7. Problem-solving and complaint handling
  8. Following council processes and procedures
  9. Cash handling and use of technology
  10. Customer awareness and current food trends

This position is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG update check prior to employment.

Applicants with residence outside the UK in the last 5 years must provide a police record check from the relevant authorities.
