Kirkcudbright Academy

£18,780.01 - £19,939.81

You will be required to work 30 hours per week, 38 weeks per year.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 2:30pm.

This position involves taking charge of a large school kitchen, with guidance and support from your line manager.

Requirements:

  • Catering Manager or supervisory experience.
  • Cooking skills and experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing meals to nursery settings and school children.
  • Managing staffing at Kirkcudbright Academy and Primary schools.
  • Organising daily kitchen operations.
  • Cash handling.
  • Utilising technology.
  • Managing kitchen budget and food waste.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation such as H.A.S.A.W. and H.A.C.C.P.
  • Being allergen aware.
  • Working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Problem management and handling complaints.
  • Following council procedures.
  • Customer awareness and understanding current food trends.

This role is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will need to join or update the PVG Scheme before employment begins.

Applicants with residence outside the UK in the last 5 years must provide a police record check from the relevant authorities.
