You will be required to work 30 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

Monday to Friday 8:30am – 2:30pm

This position is to take charge of a large school kitchen. You will be given direction / support from your line manager.

You must have Catering Manager or supervisory experience as well as cooking skills / experience

Part of your duties within this role will include the following: -

Providing meals to Nursery settings and school meals to children and young people

Managing the staffing complement at both Kirkcudbright Academy and Primary schools

Organising the day-to-day running of both kitchens

Use of technology

Managing the kitchen budget / food waste

Responsible for legislation and compliance in relation to H.A.S.A.W. and H.A.C.C.P.

Work under pressure and meet deadlines

Be able to approach problem management with ease

Deal with any complaints

Follow Council processes and procedures

Be aware of the current food trends and customer awareness

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
