Salary: £16,009.07 - £16,817.53

Hours: 27.50 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

Working hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am - 1:30pm

Job Description

Dumfries and Galloway Council seeks an enthusiastic and energetic individual to lead, manage, and cook meals at Kelloholm Primary School. You will be supported by your line manager and given guidance as needed.

Qualifications and Experience: Managerial or supervisory experience in catering and cooking skills/experience.

Responsibilities
  1. Providing early years and school meals to children and young people.
  2. Managing the kitchen budget.
  3. Ensuring compliance with H.A.S.A.W. and Cooksafe standards.
  4. Maintaining allergen awareness.
  5. Organising daily kitchen operations.
  6. Working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  7. Problem management and handling complaints.
  8. Following council processes and procedures.
  9. Cash handling and use of technology.
  10. Customer awareness and staying updated on food trends.

This position is considered regulated work with vulnerable children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG check before employment begins. Candidates who have resided outside the UK in the last 5 years will need to provide a police record check from the relevant authorities.
