About the role -
As part of this role, the Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking food to deliver a high-quality dining experience for customers. The responsibilities include:
- Providing fast and efficient service to minimize wait times for customers.
- Ensuring food preparation and presentation meet the restaurant's established standards and specifications.
- Maintaining appropriate stock levels to ensure continuous kitchen operations.
- Minimizing food wastage through careful planning and portion control.
- Preparing food in advance where possible, following proper preservation or freezing procedures.
- Customizing food preparation and recipes to accommodate customer preferences and dietary requirements.
- Identifying and addressing potential hazards to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
- Adhering to hygiene and safety regulations in line with New Zealand health and safety guidelines.
- Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and equipment to meet high standards.
- Reporting incidents or concerns promptly to the Manager.
- Following standard cooking procedures, seeking approval from the Head Chef for modifications.
- Providing guidance and demonstrating cooking techniques to team members, as directed by the Head Chef.
- Undertaking additional tasks as reasonably requested by the Supervisor to support kitchen operations.
Qualifications, Experience, and Attributes Required:
- Level 4 or higher qualification in a similar field, or
- At least 2 years of experience as a Cook.
- Excellent food hygiene practices.
- High standard of personal hygiene and presentation.
- Ability to thrive in a small, high-paced, and high-volume environment.
- Punctuality, organization, and multitasking skills with attention to detail.

Pay & Benefits:
- Full-time permanent employment.
