HERON VIEW CARE HOME ARE LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED COOK TO JOIN OUR CURRENT TEAM, ON MONDAYS AND WEDNESDAYS TO PRODUCE QUALITY NUTRITIOUS MEALS FOR OUR SERVICE USERS BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 9-6.

Heron View is a thirty five bedded specialist care home supporting men with mental health, neurocognitive disorders and acquired brain injury presentations. This is who you will be cooking for.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Nutrition is an important part of providing the perfect care to our service users, and the Cook does just this! You will have all dietary requirements/ cultural requirements, and a genuine interest in the wellbeing of our service users, to serve up meals following these guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

o Preparing nutritious meals for service users in line with guidelines/ requirements
o Daily cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and equipment
o Maintain inventory of kitchen equipment and produce
o Utilise knowledge of HACCP and current food regulations
o Interaction with service users to reflect their food choices




KEY SKILLS

o Food hygiene level 2 certification
o Previous experience of food preparation in a commercial/ domestic/ hospital or care setting
o Warm, approachable personality to engage with service users and vulnerable adults with ease
o Confident managing kitchen alone including cleanliness
