Job summary

Beaumont is seeking a competent Cook to support our kitchen team in delivering high-quality, home cooked meals for residents. The role covers working in a fast-paced environment, covering for the Cook Manager when needed and ensuring dietary and cultural needs are met.

You will lead kitchen staff, plan menus with the Cook Manager, manage stock and deliveries, and maintain high hygiene standards to ensure safe, nutritious meals for residents.

Qualifications

  • 1 year experience working in a kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and direct a team of kitchen colleagues to deliver a first class catering service.
  • Prepare menus in consultation with the Cook Manager and Home Manager.
  • Understand residents nutritional needs and ensure meals meet standards.
  • Prepare beverages and snacks as required.
  • Plan and deliver set menus in absence of Cook Manager.
  • Manage stock taking, stock rotation and deliveries when needed.
  • Maintain hygiene, cleanliness and safety in line with standards.

Cook - 16 hrs pw

Your experience as a competent 2nd Chef/Cook within the kitchen team, used to covering for the role of the Cook Manager in the absence of the main Cook, will allow you to really step up to support the running of the catering operation within the Home.

This will include preparing high quality home cooked, fresh, nutritional meals and catering for any day to day dietary and cultural needs.

About the role

In the absence of the Cook Manager you will:

Lead, motivate and direct a team of kitchen colleagues to deliver a first class catering service to the residents within the Home.

Prepare menus in consultation with the Cook Manager, Home Manager, residents, families, catering committees. Understanding individuals nutritional needs and choices. Ensuring the quantity and quality of all food served is to the required nutritional standards.

Prepare any beverages and snacks throughout the day, around the needs and choices of residents.

In the absence of the Cook Manager, planning and delivering, set menus.

When required to by the Cook Manager, take responsibility for stock taking, stock rotation and storage of stock, including checking and receiving deliveries.

Monitor and replenish kitchen and food stocks, in conjunction with the Home Manager. Maintain records of the same, in line with Company procedures.

Responsible for the presentation of the dining areas.

Assist in supervising all other kitchen staff

Ensuring that high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and food preparation are maintained at all times to meet environmental food safety standards.
