Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a Cook 1 (Catering Assistant) at Waverley Court in Edinburgh to support school catering with meals and basic food preparation.

You will work as part of a team with a focus on good customer service and meal quality. The post requires PVG disclosure and willingness to undergo checks; pro-rata conditions apply for part-time hours.

Cook 1 (Catering Assistant)
Location: Waverley Court

Salary £25,661 - £25,924 (pro-rata for part time)
Hours 35 per week, 52 weeks per year
Our cook 1's/catering assistants play a vital role in delivering high quality catering services within schools. Working as part of a team, to deliver a range of meals, basic food preparation and great customer care.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
