Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a Cook 1 at Trinity Primary School on a fixed-term basis until 27 October 2027. The post is 16 hours per week across 38 weeks per session, with a salary of £25,661 - £25,924 (pro-rata for part-time and sessional).

You will deliver meals, carry out basic food preparation and provide attentive customer service as part of a catering team. This role requires PVG scheme membership or update checks, with pre-employment checks and inclusive recruitment practices

Hours: 16 per week, 38 weeks sessional

Our cook 1's/catering assistants play a vital role in delivering high quality catering services within schools. Working as part of a team, to deliver a range of meals, basic food preparation and great customer care.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
