Job summary

Priory Hospital Suttons Manor is seeking a part-time Cook to join Priory Group in a hospital catering role. You will plan, prepare and serve nutritious meals within the hospital, ensuring high standards of food hygiene and patient-focused service.

The ideal candidate has NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) and a basic food hygiene certificate, with professional kitchen experience and strong communication. Weekend shifts apply; access via car or public transport is available.

Due to the location of the service, access to a vehicle or the ability to drive is recommended.

However, the site is also accessible via the below public transport links.

• Nearby underground station Theydon Bois, which is on the Central Line
• Close to Romford and Brentwood railway stations
• Bus stops are a short walk away (Epping Lane bus stop or Passingford Bridge roundabout)

What you'll be doing

As a Chef, you will work 8:00am - 4:00pm every Saturday and Sunday, taking responsibility for the planning, preparation, cooking, and service of nutritious, high-quality meals within the hospital. You will ensure all kitchen activities and operations are carried out in line with operational standards, food hygiene requirements, and statutory regulations.

What you'll bring to the role

We are looking for a skilled and organised Chef with NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) and a basic food hygiene qualification. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a professional kitchen, preparing high-quality meals for large groups while working to deadlines and budget. You will have strong communication and organisational skills, a good understanding of specialised diets including dysphagia and allergens, and a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
