Cook - Vertas Group Limited

Hours: 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, working pattern of 5 out of 7 days

Salary: £13.20 per hour

Location: Sizewell C, Leiston, Suffolk

About us

Vertas is seeking a dynamic, energetic Cook to support our outside catering operations in Leiston, Suffolk. The role involves working at various sites in food trailers, often alone. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, multitasking between taking orders, cooking, and handling payments. Training will be provided, but a basic understanding of cooking and high HACCP standards are essential.

The Role

As a Cook with Vertas, your main responsibilities will include:

• Cooking and serving meals in a takeaway setting
• Ensuring health & safety compliance
• Managing allergen information and compliance
• Handling ordering and stock management
• Controlling and recording food wastage
• Maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and café areas
• Ensuring food presentation and service meet company standards
• Communicating effectively and maintaining professionalism
• Adhering to hygiene and safety regulations
• Completing financial documentation accurately and on time
• Conducting monthly stock checks
• Responding to customer feedback
• Attending training and team meetings
• Updating staff training records
• Reporting maintenance issues
• Executing additional tasks as directed by management
