Position

An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Cook at Ayrshire Central Hospital.

What you will do:

We have an excellent opportunity for an organised person with cooking and kitchen management skills. You must have experience in large scale catering preferably within an NHS environment and hold City and Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or an S/NVQ qualification along with a Food Hygiene Certificate.

You should have the ability to work off your own initiative as well as work as part of a larger team. Good communication skills are also essential. The Main Kitchen at Ayrshire Central Hospital provided in excess of 600 patient prepared and cooked meals every day, including therapeutic diets to patients, as well as meal services for staff and visitors. In addition we cater and provide hospitality for meetings and functions. Your duties include the perpetration, cooking and service of meals including any preparation of therapeutic diets when required. Maintaining a high standard of hygiene, recording and monitoring of data for HACCP and the Environmental Health.

Hours:

37 per week

Shift pattern 5 days over 7 days - must be available to cover shifts within the department between the hours of 06:30 and 18:00 including weekends.
