Key Duties/Accountabilities
- Plan, prepare, and cook meals according to individual dietary requirements (e.g. allergies, medical conditions, cultural preferences).
- Ensure food is served safely, attractively, and on time
- Work with care staff to understand and support residents’ nutritional needs and preferences.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen in line with food safety regulations.
- Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage food storage appropriately
- Keep accurate records of food temperatures, deliveries, and stock rotation.
- Adhere to budgets and minimize food waste.
- Engage positively with residents, promoting a pleasant and inclusive mealtime experience
- Comply with all health and safety, food hygiene, and infection control procedures.
- Participate in training and development to maintain high standards of care and catering.
Essential Experience Required
- Experience working as a cook or chef, preferably in a care, healthcare, or similar environment.
- Knowledge of dietary needs and nutritional standards.
- Ability to work independently and manage kitchen operations.
- Understanding of safeguarding and dignity in care settings.
Essential Qualifications Required
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
