NHS National Services Scotland is seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant to join the Stratheden Hospital catering team in Cupar, Scotland. This role involves preparing, producing and presenting menu items for patients, staff and visitors, while ensuring a clean, safe environment for the service.

Flexibility is essential to cover annual leave or sickness, with weekend shifts expected. Uniform and PPE are supplied; pension and family-friendly policies are in place to support staff.

Qualifications

• Up-to-date Food Hygiene Certificate and knowledge of Food Safety Legislation.
• HACCP awareness and relevant catering qualifications.
• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

An opportunity has arisen to join our dedicated team of Support Services staff within the catering department at Stratheden hospital.

Duties include preparing, producing and presenting the menu items required for the food service to patients, staff and visitors. Assisting with maintaining a clean safe working environment for the delivery of the catering service. An up to date Food Hygiene Certificate, knowledge of current Food Safety Legislation and HACCP, relevant catering qualifications, City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

Previous experience of working within a large scale catering environment would be an advantage. A degree of flexibility is essential to the post, as you may be required to cover for annual leave or sickness absence.

This post will involve working weekends.

Uniform and PPE are supplied, inclusion to the workplace pension scheme, and family friendly policies. Excellent rate of pay, enhanced rates for working at weekends +37% Saturday and +74% Sunday also generous holiday entitlement, on commencement 27days and 8 Public Holidays.

To cover the needs of the service a range of shifts are as follows, earliest start 6.30am to 2.30pm, 8.30am to 4.30pm and 10am to 6pm. The post will involve working mainly at Stratheden Hospital but there is a requirement to cover some shifts at St Andrews Community Hospital to suit the needs of the service.
