Qualifications

Job description

Gloucestershire's largest comprehensive school, with over 200 staff and approximately 1,800 students, is seeking a Cook to join the catering team and support the provision of catering facilities.

Working Hours: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus 1 week), Monday to Friday, 06:00 to 13:55, with a 30-minute unpaid break.

Responsibilities:
  • Take responsibility for the preparation of hot and cold food and assist with food service across all areas of the school.
  • Help plan daily menus with the Catering Lead, considering special dietary requirements (e.g., allergens), and assist with stock ordering.
  • Develop and improve catering services to deliver healthy, high-quality meals that meet nutritional standards and comply with DFE food policy.
  • Ensure sufficient food availability throughout the school day.
  • Minimize wastage to maintain operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Assist with serving staff and students, using the school's till system.
  • Maintain hygienic standards in accordance with management policies and relevant food safety regulations.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Allergy Awareness qualification
  • HACCP training
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
