Job summary

Vertas at The Lodge Forest Cafe, FK8 3SX, is seeking a Cook for a 20-hour/ week role, five days out of seven, with shifts from 10:00am to 14:00pm including weekends, delivering high-quality food that meets our standards and delights customers.

The successful candidate will bring proven chef experience, knowledge of cooking methods, and strong teamwork. Desirable: Food hygiene Level 2 certification.

• Teamwork: collaborate with the culinary team to maintain quality and service throughout the shift.

About the Role:

Based at The Lodge Forest Cafe, FK8 3SX you will be working 20 hours a week for 5 days out of 7 including weekends from 10:00am - 14:00pm. you'll play a key role in preparing and serving high-quality food that meets our standards and delights our customers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Food preparation: handling day-to-day duties and ensuring dishes meet site standards.
• Cooking and service: managing your station and delivering food on time.
• Safety and hygiene: following best practices with equipment, utensils, and food storage.
• Stock management: keeping ingredients fresh and reordering stock, when supplies run low.
• Teamwork: collaborating with the culinary team to maintain quality and service throughout the shift.

Who are we looking for?

• Proven chef experience, ideally in contract catering.
• Knowledge of cooking methods and processes, with the ability to multitask under pressure.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Food hygiene certification at Level 2 (desirable).
