Conveyancing Paralegal Assistant

About the Opportunity

The Role

As a Conveyancing Paralegal Assistant, you will support the Conveyancing team, providing legal assistance and support to the Team Leader/Conveyancing Manager. You may also support other office functions as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Audio typing of correspondence and legal documents using MS Word, case management, and digital dictation.
  • Providing secretarial services to fee earners, including updating diaries, preparing documentation, and sending standard letters.
  • Training and supervising trainee paralegals, junior secretaries, and conveyancing assistants new to the team.
  • Preparing ROT/COT for review by fee earners.
  • Requesting Title Deeds and Redemption Statements.
  • Filing: creating new files, inputting new matters and changes of address, and closing files when completed.
  • Preparing files for purchase interviews, including typing mortgage deeds, transfers, SDLT forms, drafting completion statements, and preparing completion files, statements, correspondence, and discharge forms.
What We're Looking For
  • Knowledge of conveyancing procedures, including sale and purchase transactions.
  • Previous experience in a legal or professional environment preferred.
  • Minimum of four GCSEs, including English.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in ICT, Outlook, MS Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with case management and legal software is advantageous but not essential.
  • Additional legal qualifications or studies are a plus but not required.
