The Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Conveyancing Assistant to join the Residential Property team at the Leicester office. The successful candidate will work closely with an experienced fee earner to assist with a varied and busy caseload, supporting transactions from start to finish.

Key duties include:

  • Assisting on freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, re-mortgages, transfers of equity, Right to Buy, and shared ownership matters

  • Opening and closing files in line with SRA, CQS, and internal compliance standards

  • Ordering property searches and using the Land Registry portal to handle registrations and requisitions

  • Preparing and submitting SDLT returns

  • Drafting and sending out quotes to potential clients

  • Communicating with clients, solicitors, estate agents, and lenders

  • Preparing financial documents including bills, receipts, and payments

  • Providing updates to clients and monitoring file progress

  • Carrying out general administrative tasks and occasional reception cover

You
The ideal candidate will be a motivated and organised individual with previous experience in a conveyancing setting. You’ll have a friendly, professional manner and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience as a Conveyancing Assistant or Legal Secretary (preferred)

  • A solid understanding of the residential conveyancing process

  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and case management software

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills

  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively

  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal

  • A proactive attitude and a genuine interest in property law
