Conveyancing Assistant Role - Bourne

Our client is seeking a Conveyancing Assistant to join their team in the Bourne area. The ideal candidate will support Fee Earners and Directors, with knowledge of conveyancing processes and transactions. The primary responsibilities include assisting in conveyancing transactions and managing daily administrative duties.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Maintaining a tidy and organized workspace.
  2. Assisting with reception duties, including answering calls with good etiquette and a friendly demeanor.
  3. Supporting other office areas as needed.
  4. Training staff as directed.
  5. Handling incoming and outgoing post.

Main responsibilities encompass:

  1. Adhering to CLC rules, office policies, and anti-money laundering procedures.
  2. Preparing quotes, chasing instructions, and managing client communications.
  3. Meeting clients, reviewing paperwork, and obtaining signatures.
  4. Requesting searches and missing documents.
  5. Sending draft contracts and supporting documents.
  6. Drafting sale completion statements.
  7. Obtaining Lawyer Checker reports and managing results.
  8. Preparing files for completion, ensuring timely receipt of funds.
  9. Ordering and reviewing searches, requesting necessary payments and redemption statements.
  10. Preparing final statements and payslips for accounts.
  11. Handling SDLT returns and post-completion issues such as submitting SDLT to HMRC, serving notices, and registration at HMLR.
  12. Meeting deadlines and utilizing company systems for recording quote and instruction statuses.

Desirable skills include:

  • Full UK Driver's Licence.
  • Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities.
  • Studying towards Licensed Conveyancer status.
