Job Description:

We’re working on an exciting opportunity for an Underwriter to join a growing and collaborative team in Leeds, specialising in title insurance and legal indemnities. This is a unique role offering the chance to underwrite a wide range of residential title risks, with future exposure to commercial deals.

You’ll be assessing risks related to property transactions, such as missing planning permissions, restrictive covenants, leasehold issues, and right of way concerns. You’ll work closely with solicitors and brokers to provide bespoke insurance solutions that help keep deals on track. This isn’t standard e-trade underwriting; you’ll be involved in technically complex cases that require investigation, judgement, and strong communication.

The role would suit someone from a legal, conveyancing, or underwriting background – for example, solicitors, conveyancers, legal executives or insurance professionals with experience in property or title risks. A solid understanding of residential conveyancing is key, and legal indemnity experience is highly desirable.

You’ll benefit from structured on-the-job. training, learning directly from experienced Senior Underwriters, with the potential to work up to handling cases with values in the millions. This is a hands-on role in a growing Leeds team that’s playing a key part in expanding the company’s UK presence outside of London.

With hybrid working (typically two to three days in the office), acompetitve salary depending on experience, and a strong benefits package, this is an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your underwriting or legal career.
