Job summary

North East Law Firm is seeking a senior Conveyancer in Peterlee to manage and progress residential property transactions from inception to completion. You will work with a strong support team to ensure timely, accurate conveyancing and compliance with current laws.

The ideal candidate is an experienced solicitor or licensed conveyancer, capable of handling complex files and coordinating with clients, agents, lenders and other professionals to ensure smooth transfers of ownership.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor or licensed conveyancer with proven conveyancing experience.
• Strong understanding of residential and potentially commercial property transactions.
• Excellent communication with clients, agents, lenders and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough investigations into title deeds and ownership records.
• Prepare and review contracts, transfer documents and other conveyancing paperwork.
• Liaise with clients to provide timely updates and respond to enquiries.
• Coordinate with mortgage lenders, surveyors and local authorities as needed for information and approvals.
• Ensure compliance with legislation including AML requirements and Conveyancing Protocols.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and documentation for each transaction.
• Identify and resolve issues or discrepancies during the conveyancing process.
• Work efficiently to meet deadlines and manage caseload effectively.
• Assist in preparing completion statements and financial transactions related to conveyancing cases.
• Keep up-to-date with changes in property law and conveyancing practices.

Job Description

The Conveyancer manages and progresses residential and possibly commercial property transactions also from inception to completion. This role requires meticulous attention to legal detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines. The Conveyancer liaises with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, solicitors, and other relevant parties to ensure the smooth transfer of property ownership in compliance with current legislation and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough investigations into title deeds and property ownership records.
• Prepare and review contracts, transfer documents, and other legal paperwork related to property transactions.
• Liaise with clients to provide regular updates and respond promptly to enquiries.
• Coordinate with mortgage lenders, surveyors, local authorities, and other stakeholders to obtain necessary information and approvals.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including the Law Society Conveyancing Protocol and anti-money laundering regulations.
• Manage and maintain accurate case files and documentation throughout each transaction.
